License and Share on FDroid #13

If this is GNU licensed, or compatibly licensed, it could be placed on the http://f-droid.org/ open source app repository? Or you could host our own repository according to the F-Droid format somewhere so F-Droid enabled users could download the app and use it easily.

Many of the people inclined to use this app are those who already worry about a burgeoning surveillance state culture in the western world, and who may therefore avoid using closed-source software on their phones, such as the Android Play store etc.: would be great therefore to see this on F-Droid.

Thanks!

This was already addressed here: https://github.com/Miserlou/OpenWatch---Android/issues/11

We are working on a complete re-write at the moment, so it might be a bit of a waste of time to upload this to F-Droid.

How does F-Droid work? Do we still get to act as maintainers of the project? It might be easiest for us to finish working on v2 and maintain it on F-Droid ourselves rather than have somebody else do it, but either way is fine with us.

Woah, also, PS, are you the guy who made the 3d-printable dremel centrifuge? That's amazing!

Derp, sorry for the duplicate. F-Droid, I think, compile and sign code for their own repo but you can host your own and users can easily add it to their repo list. The Guardian Project have one which might offer an example of how (though it is a bit buggy at present..) https://github.com/guardianproject/fdroid-repo https://guardianproject.info/2012/03/15/our-new-f-droid-app-repository/

Looking forward to seeing the rewrite! Not sure about the legalities of recording police in Ireland, but thankfully we seem to have less need (for now!). Awesome project, by the way, and browsing through your github repos I've found some really nice gems I'll be revisiting (currently spending my 20% time on a Python RPC-DHT with crypto and no effing twisted). :)

Yea, the Dremelfuge is my baby. I recently moved the sources to gitorious: https://gitorious.org/dremelfuge/dremelfuge/trees/master Always surprised and delighted to see how widely known that project is. It was a labour of necessity: I still use it daily! Thanks! :D
