Hmm, might go further actually, and do individual combinations of platform + media type, so I can have GBC carts that look like this, and GBA carts that look like that...
Alternate idea: Generic icon for game type? Arcade games have an icon, ROMs have an icon (which would be the most generic looking game icon ever, like a gamepad or something), DOS games have an icon, so on and so forth. Maybe. I don't even know how much this matters at this point.
Okay, new plan. That last one doesn't look as nice as I thought it would, but it's okay, I see no reason to not leave it there, until maybe one day 50 years later I'll get rid of it, unless somehow people use it by then, in which case I won't, because that wouldn't be nice.
Anyway. The new plan is: I draw some crappy (they will be crappy because it's me creating them) icons for cartridges, optical discs, floppies, and I'm not sure what to do about executables and digital releases so I'll leave them alone until I can think of something.
And then like standalone systems can be a little picture of an arcade cabinet or a computer or something depending on what they are, if they don't already have icons. Who knows.
It's probably about time I flexed what little creative muscle I have.
