I've accepted this as a bug but not as a functionality bug but a documentation bug. This is actually the intended behaviour when cloning but I should have stated that in the user guide. My rationale was that cloning helps you to save time retyping the details of the entry (description, amount etc), as if you were entering a new entry. Since borrow entries default to unpaid when entered, cloning the entry does that too. Noted that the user guide should have stated this more clearly.
