Although I had to revert your change around using wispc.compile back to wisp.compileString as it was still failing on a new project. I assume it worked for you because you had the wisp module cached already? (Not sure what's going on there)
Additionally, I've updated the old Package APIs calls. This module should now be compatible with Meteor 1.0.
