Thumbnails and image not loading

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I create a new album, upload photos into the album.
2. Then when I click on manage gallery and select the gallery the thumbnail 
preview does not show, instead a tiny coloured file (standard) shows.
3. Then when I click on the thumbnail or click view it gives a message 
"loading" but nothing happens

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to see a small thumbnail of the actual image and then when I 
click on the image I would expect to see a full sized version of the image

What WordPress / NextGEN Gallery version are you using? What browser are
you using?
I am using version 1.9.10 and I"m using google chrome

Please provide any additional information below.
