Sample class simply needs to know which branches it should keep for systematics evaluation at a later stage.

Not really. User will need to figure out what they want at pre-processing, and make sure they keep the relevant informaiton at that stage. Otherwise we ask them to specify fit-related information at a non-fitting-related stage. I will then close this issue.
