Windows Defender blocks installation of gtfs-validator because it is unsigned #1310

I am unable to install the gtfs-validator on my work Windows 11 PC because it is unsigned.

Steps:

  1. Go to GTFS Schedule Validator page on the GTFS website
  2. Click Download for Windows
  3. Unzip the file
  4. Scan for viruses
  5. Double click

Expected result: program installs

Actual result: Get error:

Windows protected your PC Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.

App: GTFS Validator-4.0.0.msi Publisher:
Unknown publisher

I do have the option of running anyway; that said, I'd prefer to install something that identifies itself with a signature.
