Cannot flash v12 w/ Balena #8

Downloaded v12 three different times from https://www.mod-bros.com/en/mobro/download/latest?download-type=image thinking it might be an issue in transit. Used 7-zip on W10 x64 Home (just like I did with v11 and v10). Flash fails every time on balena 1.5.120. I have tried with two different USB microSD card readers (one I KNOW works, having just flashed Raspbian). One is USB-A 3.0 and the other, USB-C 3.0. Tried with verifying flash in balena and not. When skipping verification, the pi will boot and I just get a black screen, flashing cursor. Not sure what is failing...

That's weird. I've just tried and successfully flashed both v12 and the new v12.1 using the same 1.5.120 balena Etcher version. Here's the MD5 of the recent v12.1, so you can check your downloaded and unzipped image before flashing: AB5E14967F6BBD80418F6EADC7D01F19 Also if balena isn't working (for whatever reason), you could also try using the 'Raspberry Pi Imager' instead

On 12.0, neither Balena nor RPI Imager worked. Had to use Win32 Disk Imager to get anywhere. I will grab 12.1 and try again. Once I did get 12.0 up, network discovery didnt work (had to hardcode server ip) and it still says "ethernet disconnected" even though I was connected to the server. Hoping 12.1 has some of the kinks fixed. Will report back shortly.

v12.1 worked very easily on Balena for flashing - quick and verification was successful. The Ethernet discovery on 12.1 still seems wonky. I am able to connect to the IP of my PI directly from my computer (192...) but the PI itself says disconnected and the GUI via 192 says ethernet is disconnected which is not physically possible since I can HTTP and SSH into it (putty). On v12.0, I could manually set the static IP of my server. On v12.1, when the network discovery did not work automatically (like 12.0), I tried to set my server IP manually while connected to the web interface (thus I know the PI is connected), but upon a reboot (going through the config wizard, v12.1), the manually set IP will not connect to my server -- same PI, memory card that worked on v11, v12.0 (even with wierdness), but not now at all with 12.1.

Edit: this might be a considered a new issue and can probably close the balena/flashing issue here on GH.

Edit 2: Following this: https://www.mod-bros.com/en/forum/t/raspberry-pi-wont-connect-via-eth-on-new-version~2386 -- Disabled OverlayFS and network connections was successful in automatic discovery mode, no issue. RPI2, 7" Official Touchscreen, Samsung Class 10 16GB microSD card
