Mod Organizer is locked while the application is running SkyrimSE.exe #1790

I tried running Skyrim SE from the mod organizer, but i get the message "Mod Organizer is locked while the application is running SkyrimSE.exe" I tried restarting my computer so there is no chance anything is running, and I get the same error.

I downloaded mod organizer 2 from nexus, after installing SKSE (which i manage to run skyrim through skse, and check the version using the in-game console). When trying to run skyrimskse from the mod organizer, I keep getting the aforementioned error popup.

Edit: It's worth mentioning that running Skyrim through the skse64_loader.exe directly works. Though I don't have any "Data" option to use the mod I tried downloading(SkyUI in this case)

That's not an error popup, that's an information popup, just wait for the game to start.

The problem is that it isn't starting. even after an hour

You can disable the GUI lock in the MO2 workarounds settings if you wish

The issue isn't not being able to use the MO2 app, but that I can't run the game through it

I have the same problem. My game just won't open from MO2
