Great idea! Could you please provide me with more details? or screenshots of this feature implemented?
So, I've used apps on my ipad before which allow you to load up an image, and you can choose how many horizontal or vertical grid squares you want, it it divides your image up into x squares, so if you choose five say, it would do a grid where you had five squares across, and how ever many down to keep the squares the same size. You would then draw a grid on paper to match the number of squares, and you can then take each square one at a time when creating a drawing (helps for proportions etc).
I've done a very quick mock up of an example (ignore the unevenly spaced grid squares :) ).
A sample app I've used on the ipad : https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tracing-buddy-drawing-grid/id1470174296
I've been using Quick Picture Viewer on my second monitor to display a reference image while I am drawing, and it would be great if a configurable grid could be overlayed on top of the image to enable grid reference drawing.
