Frequent Server Timeouts in Mentor interface

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Perform an operation in the mentor interface

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

 The application list, list of mentors, or whatever.  Instead you get:

 Server Error
 The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your 
 request.

 Please try again in 30 seconds. 

Please provide any additional information below.
 It's happened to me about 10 times this morning and a few times yesterday.
 It almost makes the interface unusable.

I'm receiving a 30 second server-side timeout when posting a comment, resulting 
in a 502 error and the error 
message above. The comment is, however, posted without problems.

This report is a duplicate of Known Issue 16.  Please track status updates in 
that bug.
