Mis-labeled e-mail notifications

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Project application entered
2. Mentor updates application

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected mail contents would be:

"Dear <Student>,
The application <Application> has been updated by <Mentor> ..."

Instead, the following appears:

"Dear <Mentor>,
The application <Application> has been updated by <Student> ..."

The labels just appear to be swapped

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
