Inquries about tabular parametric data #9

Closed jonghwanP closed 3 months ago

I have questions for the parametric table data.

  1. Could you share the values of base design parameters for the fastback, notchback, and estateback?    In your paper,  there are min and max values (Table 4), but there is no information about base parameter values for the DrivAer models.
  2. For the wheel design variation (WW, WWC, WWS),    what is the meaning of S? is it for the tire surface or wheel?    (in paper, WW: with open wheels detailed, WWC: with wheels closed, WWS: with open wheels smooth).    For WWC (with wheels closed), is it smooth or detailed tire (or wheel)?

Sincerely,

Hi,

Thank you for your questions regarding the parametric table data.

Base Design Parameters: The base designs for the fastback, notchback, and estateback are based on the original designs provided by the Chair of Aerodynamics at TUM. Therefore, the values from the table for the base designs will be zero for all design parameters, as these values represent the morphing or adjustments made to the base design.

Wheel Design Variation: "S" stands for a smooth tire

I hope this clarifies your questions. Please feel free to reach out if you have any more inquiries.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

base design parameters In your paper figure 3, the definition of design parameters are described. So, did you measure the base design parameters? e.g., trunk lid length... Because the delta values in table 4 are all the same for the fastback, notchback and estateback, it's difficult for me to distinguish among different rear shape.

Thanks.

Hi, Apologies for the late response and any confusion caused by the naming convention we used. Here's more detailed description: image

Also, we will update the manuscript to include the base dimensions for each design—fastback, notchback, and estateback :)
