The Mohawk College MARC-HI/MEDIC Client Registry Reference Implementation represents the prototype Client Registry (Enterprise Master Patient Index - EMPI) developed under our Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) grant to build a test version of the pan-Canadian Electronic Health Record System blueprint as prescribed by Canada Health Infoway.

Question for maintainer #1

(Below is a email I wrote to Duane of Mohawk. I'm not sure he is the active maintainer as I haven't heard back. Therefore, I am entering in this issue with the hope that the current maintainer will respond)

Hi Duane,

My name is Matthew Vita, an American programmer in the healthcare industry. I also am involved in a few open source healthcare projects.

I write to you because I am interested in your MEDIC Client Registry solution. Here are my questions:

Thanks,

Hi Matthew,

Apologies for the delay in responding, I am currently abroad and I don't get notifications on this project. Duane is the coordinator of the department however myself and @mo3dev are the maintainers of the MEDIC CR platform.

RE: Your question, if it is still relevant. The solution was originally designed to run as a proof of concept or training / learning instance, however it can run in production. In Myanmar they are currently exploring it as a production solution and there are several other projects which are leveraging the codebase (with modifications) and are currently trying this solution for use in production.

In terms of users, this solution is primarily being leveraged by open source projects looking for a solution to link different patient identity domains together. If you're interested in reading more about how this solution is being used, we are a contributor to OpenHIE (http://ohie.org).

I hope that helps

-Justin

Hi @justin-fyfe,

I am so happy to hear back! Your solution appears to be the only open source patient identify solution around and I am glad to hear it is being maintained.

Right now, my backlog is rather large with the other health care open source projects that I mentioned I work on, but I want to contribute to this one as well. I will reach back when I free up some time.

Thanks,
