Dashclock suddenly has started crashing going into Daydream mode #592

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Wait for Dashclock to go into Daydream mode, or...
2. Enter system Daydream settings, select Dashclock, and then click "Start Now"
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Dashclock force-closes as soon as Daydream activates. It is the only Daydream
app on my phone that displays this behavior - however, it only recently started
doing so.

What version of the product are you using?
The latest version - I uninstalled and reinstalled Dashclock twice and still
run into the issue.

Which device and Android version are you experiencing this issue on?
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) with Android 4.2.3

Are you using a custom launcher or ROM? If so, which one? Note that custom
launchers and ROMs are not supported.
Using Nova Launcher - however, like I said, this behavior only recently started.

Please provide any additional information below.

The latest version in the Google Play store (1.5).

Ah, try the beta version (1.6 Beta 1) at http://dashclock.com/beta. It may have
a relevant fix.

Okay, I updated to 1.6 beta 1 but I still run into the issue. I go to the
system Daydream settings and select Dashclock, then click "Start Now." There is
about five seconds of lag, and then Dashclock force closes.

Interesting... If you've taken logs before for other apps, it would be helpful
to see what is causing that. If you haven't, I'll privately send you a special
build you can use to capture and send the logs?

I just tried to send you my system log via e-mail. Don't know if I did it
correctly. If not, let me know about the special build and I'll try that.
Thanks!
