FEATURED TOPIC section

Feature box on landing page highlighting the special curated list of topics. A "Learn More..." link or hover mouse pops up a new overlay window or popup window with more topics (linked) --> go to ALL CURATED TOPICS LIST page. It would be helpful to explain what the list is. Maybe mention in the "About the project" page with a link to this page as well.

There's also a FULL TOPICS set of all topics assigned to the collections. NOTE 3/23: Now NOT including the ones selected from the Curated Topics. For now, the full Curated Topics list is a different page, with the database Topics browse page looking and functioning similarly to the other Browse pages. Is this a different page? Or are the curated topics listed first, then the others? Possible UI/UX issue.

Currently, the plan is to make one of the FEATURE boxes on the index page a TOPIC (curated) feature. One topic from the curated list will be featured, possibly changed weekly. A button or link for "See more topics" would go to the BROWSE-TOPICS page. A button or link could be a hover for the FEATURE box, and/or or a text link in or near the box will link to an All Curated Topics Page ALSO available on the result page for that select featured Curated Topic.

I think it makes more sense for the link or button on the Index Page under or in the Curated Topic Feature Block to take you to the All Curated Topics List Page rather than AND on the data-populated Browse By Topics List Page, as a sort of "ad" for the Curated Topics as an extra value.

Perhaps a content blurb could be shown on the SERP that describes the Curated Topics list (placement: RH side ?) The curated topics/themes might need to be within the facets list Sidebar... If so, when you hit the "show all" link for Curated Topics, perhaps that page could include some context for how the list was created. In any case, this description will live on the "About the Portal" page that is currently accessed via a top RH corner page menu nav bar.
