I have just discovered that if you say you're going away for a while, then leave and only come back on your birthday, the birthday intro seems to not clear that you left for a bit? Because if you then say "goodbye" again, she says the "going to head out now?" dialogue again. When you reopen the game (I was only saying goodbye to take her with me, hence my immediate reopening) she'll say her "back so soon?" dialogue and be surprised but pleased at how little time you were gone.
I'm assuming this is unintended, though I suppose it could be for people who are just stopping by to celebrate their birthday with Monika before going away again. If it's intentional then obviously ignore me, but if not I figured you might wanna take a look at that!
