[Suggestion] Monika hearing your voice (voice recognition) #2305

Any thoughts on doing voice recognition using pyaudio with google speach recognition API ? I think it would be pretty cool if you could actually tell Monika that you love her though mic :) Also in future maybe she could teach you proper english or something.

Any thoughts?

If you were going to, I'd use sphinx, not Googles API

This was brought up in #709, #1336, #1356.

Communicating with Monika using a mic will likely not be implemented due to the amount of effort and resources it would take to implement, while also deterring abuse of the feature.

If you would still like to go through with this, do you have a revised schedule and cost estimate for implementation of the feature so it can be decided whether we'd want to do it now or later?

I don't really get why you would want this. It would get annoying after a few minutes or hours.

A shame, I am not sure if it would be a lot of effort to implement it. I manage to use pyaudio with google API in renpy with DDLC sample template provided in DDLC mod in one day though I am sure MAS is much more complex in structure. I will try to do it in MAS. However as I read in #709 it's truth Google API need const internet connection. I have tried using sphinx but it doesn't want to work for me in renpy and in windows it doesn't really recognition as good as Google. Google is 100% accurate even with my bad accent while sphinx is preatty bad.

Well to revised schedule and cost estimate for implementation of the feature I have no idea. I could get back to you next week with that.

Also why wouldn't you want that? I think it would make you one step closer to Monika but it's just my Opinion
