ive been working on this shit for past week or something its still ugly but i really enjoyed working on it i really wanted to learn how to shade more stylistic, anime, simply i dont know i always shaded my shit with this realistic shading idk why i really try not to but still i have to add the fucking additional line

so this was a great study for me, yet i dont think itll make it to the game because lets face it its not too good im shit at anime style it was a fucking struggle with this whole lineart i hate lineart and my good ol computer almost blew up from the number of layers so watch out people who will open it xD

tho i tried here ya go with some previews (ignore the additional hand in second preview, just forgot to turn off that layer xDDd) u-suck-xD fml-lol fuck ur-ugly-;'

i-sMELl-pEnIS and heres the download link with whole this shit also i made her new right hand because i thought the old one looked weird ... kinda too small? still looks off but i think it's better tho i didnt delete the old one just in case yea n the download https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Pvole5-0-STRDdLf1jGroKY4wGzbgtlF?usp=sharing any critics is strictly forbidden appreciated

oh maybe im not sure because i cant see that ; \ any idea how to fix this?

I think one issue is that the style of the hoodie doesn't really match the style of the room, or Monika either, looking at the linework too.

well i tried linework... i dont know i just cant ;\ still i can try n fix it but if not its ok im ok with that idgaf anyway

There are lot of errors, too. Especially evident at the leaning pose, where you can see part of her elbow sticking out of the sleeve. There are also parts where the coloring doesn't match up with the linework as well :/

ghost commented 5 years ago

Also what software/hardware are you using? I might have some suggestions how to improve the linework.

Really cute

This looks great! I love the color, it ties in nicely with her favorite ice cream flavor being mint! Plus it's green, to compliment her eyes!

I might suggest changing the chest a bit though. At least in my experience, fabric doesn't conform quite that much to the shape of the chest. A certain degree of conforming to the skin is normal, especially with certain materials, but a pullover hoodie doesn't really have that, being a slightly thicker material. I'd say this would be a fairly good example: image

See how the hoodie isn't perfectly conforming to the curve, especially the underside? Think of it like you have a plank, and a tennis ball. If you put the plank upright, then nail the tennis ball to the plank, then drape a piece of fabric over it, it isn't going to conform to the tennis ball. Same thing on a human body. The only way it really does something like that is if the fabric is wet and sticking to the skin.

I'd also consider making the strings a different color to make it easier to differentiate between the strings and the hoodie itself. That's just me, though, because it almost seems like the strings kinda fade into the hoodie. Maybe you could make it even more of a reference to the ice cream by having it be brown, so it's like mint chocolate chip.

And finally, I think there might be something... Off... About the hood itself. It almost looks like a turtleneck with the neck folded down, rather than the hood of a hoodie. I'd suggest bringing it in a bit, so it isn't on the shoulders as much.

These are all, of course, just suggestions and constructive criticism. I think the hoodie as it is, is an amazing start. And I think you're doing an absolutely amazing job. Good luck with the drawing!! :D

Are you a mouse user? If so, Photoshop has Pen Tool that can definitely help you make your lines smoother. Below you can see my own submission that was done using that very tool. march update

bittercaramel commented 5 years ago

nope im using a tablet and i absolutely cant stand the way the fucking "pen" works i just dunno it sux sorry btw ur submission is great tho the lines are too like, they have no thickness variation like in original artstyle sorry for bringing ur work into this, just thought i would mention that @antimockingjay thx so much bro ill change the color of strings about the hood, i based it off of my hoodies and pictures i found on the internet idk maybe u r right tho i wouldnt change it if it isnt necessary because im lazy and have 0 motivation to live and yeah u r right about the chest and stuff my little cousin also told me this but i didnt listen cuz i hate this little brat ill... try to fix that... tho it might take like next week or two because its veery hard for me to find energy and motivation i almost dont get out of the bed till like 2pm ;\ well thanks everyone for advice

Oh! Maybe if there was a emerald green heart above one of the oppai and it looked like it was stitched in. I think that it would not only look cute and distinguishing but also compliment those 👀.

-Just My Opinion

bittercaramel commented 5 years ago

oh yeah i could do this i think id rather make it like brown or something since the whole hoodie is green and even if it was different shade it wouldnt show too much and it would match the idea of the strings being brown =u=
