However, if you actually do go to sleep, she'll get upset that you didn't sleep at all last night. Having a custom sleep response whenever she suggests you do so would prevent this sort of tonal whiplash.
I think another possible solution is to separate sleep into "I'm going to bed" and "I'm taking a nap." That might feel too redundant, though.
