. It's the easiest method of handling this and is the least likely to offend people as it doesn't mention a single thing about what the player's religion us, only asking whether or not they believe in a god, and also stating Monika's stance. Which is also a stock DDLC topic. I'd basically argue this already implemented.

Oh okay well that is a good idea, if it's already implemented then can I close this issue?
Would probably have similar issues to her asking for specific countries: She wouldn't have anything interesting to say about it, because there's so many options and it's hard to create a meaningful path for every option.
- "Atheism/Agnosticism"
- "I don't have a religion"
You realize that these are the same right?
Not to be pedantic, but you can believe in a higher power without subscribing to an organized religion, so they aren't the same.
I do still think this is better handled by her asking if you do/don't believe in a god rather than getting specific about particular faiths for now. An "I'm not sure" option would be a fine addition, but it's probably best to keep it simple as that for future dialogue paths.

Well you're right, but still I'd change the wording a bit because now it suggests that atheism is a religion
I think the overall consensus is that this idea doesn't work too well namely because of all the controversy surrounding religion and semantics. I agree with both of you, it does imply atheism and even agnosticism is a religion in this format, while it's also true that that you can be a theist and still not be part of a religion, like deists do.
I think specific religion packs could be installed as submods much more effectively, and people from said religions could work on and accurately represent their own religion to avoid confusion if they wished to. But that's not official work anyway.
marking as both topic pool and topic issue because of the uncertainity. if this does not get anymore discussion comments over the next few days, i will close until we look into it.
I'm not sure if this is already a topic, sorry if it is but here goes...
So if Monika could ask you what religion you were, it would be a randomly-spawned topic and there could be a "rather not say" option. I'm thinking something like these choices:
Of course it could either be text input or a list of choices... Let me know if I missed any major points; I don't mean to offend anyone by this.
