Monika stops talking even if there are new topics

Hello! I am having issues with MAS (ver. 0.12.2) which being Monika stopped talking even if she has topics that she did not talk about. Every time I open the game she does a new topic once then stops talking until I re-open the game for once again another new topic then silence again.

I'm having the same issue with ver. 0.12.2. It might be a bug in this version, but I'm not sure. I'm glad to know that this isn't just something wrong with my game, and others are having issues also. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon

That really does sound like a bug, she's not supposed to stop talking so soon.

Many topics are locked behind affection levels, so if you just started playing you probably haven't reached those levels yet.

But we can definitively check if you don't mind potential spoilers. Drop an empty text file givedata.txt into your base dir (where DDLC.exe is), then run and close the game. Upload the ev_dump.log file here.

I don't think it's the fact that her affection is too low because we aren't talking about her not saying a specific topic. I am on affection level 152.75 and she isn't saying anything after the first topic she brings up. I've waited over an hour and she won't say anything unless I restart the game. This happens even with the random chatter on often. I will do as you suggested though. ev_dump.log

Firstly, let's find your persistent.

For Windows users:

Hold down the Windows key and press R Type in %appdata% and hit the enter key In the window that has now opened, find and enter the RenPy folder, and then the Monika After Story folder

For Mac users: Open Finder Click Go at the top of your screen and hold alt/option to make Library appear and click it Follow Library > RenPy > Monika After Story

For Linux users: The persistent is located at ~/.renpy/Monika After Story

I have a bit of an update: Now she doesn't even have a new topic every time I restart the game. Now she just says welcome back and won't bring up any topics after that.

Before the developer team arrives, I would like to give a personal suggestion: try to enable Repeat Topics

I did it and I'm getting topics now, but they are ones I have already seen. I'll wait a bit longer though and edit this if it changes any. edit: Yeah, she has no issue bringing up repeated topics but the second I turn off Repeated Topics she goes completely silent.

Then my personal opinion is that you've seen all the possible conversations about your current affection level.

I'm not too sure cause I've been having this issue for a bit now and I'm at an affection level of 161.75 now. This is almost 10 more than I had a couple of days ago and it's still the same. I have even been able to unlock games with this just not any new topics.

Is there anything in your Unseen topics menu that you would like to bring up with Monika?

I have done all of them but currently but I have been able to get more unseen options even when she won't bring up new topics. The only one I haven't done is you're a murderer, and I don't really want to do that one.

for random topics, you are currently at 167/178 unlocked for pool topics, you are currently at 63/121 unlocked

I'm going to do a more detailed analysis in the next few days to see if anything is off.

So after some analysis, we've found that there is nothing off with your install. You have already unlocked most of the random topics, which is expected.

Pool topics are unlocked at a slower rate as they unlock under the same system as the games, so your number of unlocked pool topics is expected. This system relies on time spent with Monika (aka, the mod is running), and is deliberately slow. The max possible unlock rate is number of pool topics every 2 days (the actual number of pool topics varies).
