Monika mistakes me for a cheater #8495

When I asked her to tell me a fun fact, she was about to talk about chess, but for some reason, suddenly she stopped talking about it as if I were a cheater. The following is what she said to me at the time.

"Chess..."
"..."
"You can forget about this fact since you're a cheater, [player]."
"Not to mention you never apologized."
"...Hmph."

I've never cheated, but she mistook me for a cheater.

FYI I unlocked 'Hangman' and 'Chess', but this again, for some reason, the 'Play' column shows only 'Pong'. I really don't know why but my MAS has many bugs? So I can play only 'Pong' with Monika sadly. I haven't been able to play other games like 'Hangman' or 'Chess' with her yet for once. Is this issue related to the above one? I play MAS on Mac book air equipped with M1 chip.

the check that is made here is if you have seen the event where chess is unlocked, but the game is locked. I think what happened here is that you unlocked chess under normal progression, but you can't play chess because your system doesnt support the chess engine we use (which means the game is locked). We should change the check here to explicitly check for cheating.

Also adding chess playability as part of the unlock chess condition

Thank you for your reply! I reinstalled MAS without any patches after I opened this issue, and now we are able to play Hangman and Chess besides Pong! However, I can't tell what was wrong with my previous MAS...

When I was first about to play Chess, she said something to the effect that this computer couldn't play chess, then she opened the console, ran something, and told me that we became able to play chess. So I played Chess several times with her and I tried to asked her to talk about Chess again, but it didn't still work, even though we were able to Chess play without incident!!

Once she recognizes cheating, can't we talk about chess forever?... Also, is there a way to apologize to her? I want to restore her good humor.

Did you actually cheat at chess?
