Two Suggestions (Goodbye System & New Dialogue Choice) #9691

How To Implement Varied "Goodbye" Responses

In the Wiki page "All Features", beneath its "Goodbyes" section, a developer notes that he wants to implement a feature in which Monika alternates dialogue depending on the time at which the user says goodbye to her. However, he also notes that the team refrains from doing such due to the feature being inappropriate for users whose jobs are at night.

By allowing said users to tell Monika about their expected waking and sleeping times, as well as allowing them to change the information through a dialogue option, wouldn't this issue be fixed?

Dialogue Option Notifying Monika of Offense

Monika's harboring of particular views is apart of what can make her appear real to the user, however, expressing ones that conflict with those of said user may make them resent her, and therefore damage their perceived bond.

Because the mod is meant to provide players a sense of unconditional acceptance, its focus confidently doubting a religious, spiritual, or philosophical idea that they consider to be integral to their identity, and perhaps existence, is, possibly heavily, counterproductive. Although it's not unhealthy for couples to harbor differing views, it may be considered such for one to self-assuredly mock a belief that's deeply important to the other, even more so if said belief is commonly ridiculed (e.g in my case, astrology).

As opposed to counteracting this by tampering with Monika's individuality, the inclusion of a dialogue option that can notify her that she's offended the user, prompting an apology, would likely ease the offense of many who she's inflicted and will inflict it on. Although such a feature may be perceived as minuscule, just like the choice in dialogue, "I want to apologize... for something...", it may prevent the weakening of, and even the strengthening of, the user's perceived relationship with Monika, even if it's a brief series of text that doesn't affect the current persistent.

By allowing said users to tell Monika about their expected waking and sleeping times

This is planned under timeconcern overhaul. The idea is to not only allow to tell Monika your schedule, but also let her keep track of it and learn it; and not just sleeping, but also when you eat, study, work, etc. It opens options such as Monika joining you for a meal or tries not to distract you during the time you're busy.

This sounds interesting, but there's a few things to it. I think it's worth noting we already have a system to hide certain topics. If you do so, Monika will apology in case she offended you and will never bring them up again.

Because the mod is meant to provide players a sense of unconditional acceptance

This is not exactly true, the mod extends act 3, that's the goal, to provide more of what act 3 could suggest and beyond. It's not an ultimate girlfriend that agrees on everything. Monika has her own character, het own ideas, beliefs, philosophical views, style. Generally people don't have to agree on everything and it's part of relationship. Doesn't mean the game can't be a comfort zone for some, though.

its focus confidently doubting a religious, spiritual, or philosophical idea

It's not our focus. For example, not being religious is one of the things that define Monika, what makes Monika Monika. It's a topic from DDLC. Monika isn't kind of person who would be into superstition stuff, she's more skeptical in that aspect. At the same time she accepts her player no matter what views they have, but she likes to share her thoughts about different subjects too.
