Without any further explanation, we can only assume this behaviour is caused by a trailing new line in the pasted text. In which case the delimiter escapes to the next line as intended. If this bug is in fact about the very presence of the command prompt > character in this next line, we can accept this as cosmetic since it has no impact on subsequent user input.
