Reproduction: make a ripley mk 1, add a mk 2 conversion kit, and then get into the mech and try to walk
I suspect this might partially be because TG switched to servos, while we still have manipulators, but regardless whenever you upgrade a mk 1 ripley to a mk 2 ripley it cannot move until you screwdriver it open and put in another manipulator. Without adding this the mech is unable to move
