@MooersLab did I correctly interpret your intention? Are all those things supposed to be nested in "4. create or edit the hidden file..."? If not, where is it supposed to break out and return to the top level (ie, not nested in 4). I happy to do it, but if you want, make sure that new section if flush with the left margin.
Also, make sure that second "restart pymol" part should have been removed.
