enhancement request: add a switch so that loudgain modifies global gain field in mp3s #59

Please forgive me if this suggestion has been previously discussed/addressed, but would it be possible to add a switch to explicitly modify the audio output by adjusting the global gain field in each frame of an mp3 file? This is the behavior of mp3gain, and it allows the volume adjustment to be recognized by all mp3 players whether or not they support ReplayGain. I realize it raises the possibility of applying the ReplayGain adjustment twice, but let's assume that a user applying the switch would understand how to avoid this problem.

Ideally, the same switch could be applied to other formats besides mp3, but I don't know whether that's universally possible.

Thanks!

Apologies -- I see issue #19 has raised this same point. Closed by SFdrifter.
