Macintosh Mod Kit? #2

Open ddgarcia opened 9 years ago

In September 27th 2014 EPIK hosted a wonderful "Minecraft with NetBeans" Java workshop in San Francisco, and many of us attended with our Mac laptops. Despite several attempts, no Mac mod kit surfaced, and those of us with only Macs hoped to see if mac support would ever come. I'm wondering what the status is, and should we stop holding our breath?

Hi,

Not having an OSX machine myself it's been difficult testing anything to be happy with uploading something ourselfs.

However, the Minecraft Forge API has added gradle support in the past month. This is a little different to the direct code modding we were doing but also allows for greater possibilities with sharing mods etc. We're working on some new tutorials which make use of the Forge API at the moment :)

I wrote a blog last month covering the easy setup of Forge with NetBeans here: http://epik.org.uk/effortless-minecraft-forge-with-netbeans/

Apologies if you've been waiting all this time! I'm still working towards a better kit for EPIK itself though.

Luke.

Luke,

Thanks for the email. We got Forge up last night, as well as epik's diamond-laying-chickens in VMware (but it ran too slow to play)

Would you happen to have your diamond-laying chicken tutorial in forge? That would be ideal to get a feel for the API...
