If lit, look at base or handle, show hand icon, and RMB to pickup, look at flame, show flame icon, and RMB to snuff (for candles, candelabras, etc the lightable is on top, pickup on bottom; for lanterns, grip is on top, lightable is on bottom)
If not lit and player has open flame in one hand, push that light forward like LMB or LAlt was hit, then light the environment light-source a moment later.
If not lit, lower both hands, make a match light sound and light the environment light-source a moment later, then raise hands
Light-sources in hand:
hotkey or mouse-wheel (or TAB for offhand) - bring it to hand but does not light (because that should require environmental flame or a lit object in the other hand) or douses and puts away
LMBor LAlt tap (all unlit light-sources) - lights it (lowering both hands, match sound, wait a moment, raise hands) - lower both hands, make match light sound, light the light, raise hands
LMB or LAlt held (for all lit light-sources) - thrust/hold upward and forward and/or light environmental object (Tween to new position)
LMB or LAlt tap OR N/F tap if on belt (for lit hoodable dark lantern)) - toggle hood of lantern (the dark lantern is special because when you switch away from it, it 'attaches to your belt', so basically it says lit even though it's in your inventory, basically acting as a wearable flashlight)
Maybe first press of TAB or main-hand switch-away (for all other light-sources than dark lantern) - douse
LMB (double-tap) (for lit hoodable dark lantern)) - douse dark lantern (edge case and will rarely if ever want to douse it instead of closing hood; LMB and LAlt should remain for toggling hood since that'll be used far more often)
LMB (double-tap) (for lit torch and candlestick) - swing torch as (flaming in the case of the torch) club (moveset: simple one-handed)
N/F held for a second - toggle darkvision/witchsight/nightvision/whatever available vision aid (or close helmet visor if that's what's in that slot)
What should happen for reloading when a lit light-source is in the offhand?
for sure: If offhand is dark lantern, hangs on belt and reloads regardless of lit status
otherwise, maybe do nothing (forces player to choose if they want to put out their light in order to reload, problem is both light and having ammo loaded are critically important, so tough to choose)?
maybe drop lit light-source (might go out) or extinguish and put away in inventory? (probably not a good choice as lights are critically important)
maybe reload but very slowly (needs more animations but less annoying option)?
