An odd standing light candelabra or brazier or something, near the level exit that if you put it out (maybe blow out a special ritual candle?), a secret illusory wall disappears somewhere, rewards getting to exit early while still have stress/sanity to spare (IA inspiration).
Alt version: Maybe a mirror instead that shows the wall that will disappear, touch to toggle it.
Bad things can come out of mirrors and you can sometimes teleport by looking in a mirror, usually deeper and behind enemy lines (the area you see in the mirror becomes where you are when you turn around, that effect)
maybe the back side of you, that always faces away from you, maybe as a 2D sprite, can come out of the mirror if you turn away while close and directly in from of it
