Poppets placed on a poppet shelf in one dimension do not effect players in another. For example: You place bind a mending poppet to yourself and place it in a shelf in the overworld. You go to the nether and mine a pickaxe til it loses durability. Instead of breaking the poppet and fixing the pickaxe, the pickaxe is destroyed and nothing happens to the poppet.
