Description

This project is focused on using microCT data to elucidate trabecular architecture within the vertebrae of stem archosaurs. My collaborators and I are first using birds as a model to understand if trabecular bone architecture is modified due to invading pulmonary diverticula tissue. If so, we can then determine if trabecular architecture in extinct taxa was influenced by soft tissue from the pulmonary system. I have microCT scans of over +30 specimens, and I would like to use SlicerMorph to extract models because my laptop is not powerful enough!
