While most painting is external, I have a few models that have overhangs that make it impossible to reach the interior of the model for painting.
Describe the solution you'd like
A cutaway view for painting the model in hard-to-paint areas. At min: a camera locked cutaway view. At best: position the camera, cutaway the model until the hidden area is seen, lock this view and move the camera so that area is still fully cutaway but not attached to the camera. Add a toggle to invert this cutaway as it may be easier to cut down into something, but you want to paint the overhang, not the exposed valley.
Context
After learning some slicers have, for SLA printing, added the ability to do a cutaway view, I learned that PrusaSlicer is adding a support painting feature (as CANVAS already has) and to make it easier to paint the supports in areas that may have overhangs that aren't directly visible by doing a cutaway.
