Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll double check that as part of this 1.1.8 release along with the rGAF additions #14
Oddly enough, the current goa_human.gaf available on EBI is still in v2.1. I'll still make sure it's compatible with 2.2.
Never got around to this, apologies. I will revisit soon.
Beyond changes to GAF, there is a change to the .obo format as well that make all post 2019 ontology files broken as well. Need to fix both things.

I see that GO is announcing retiring of GAF v 2.1, and I think gocats is handling the 2.2 format, but it would be good to be 100% sure
