Altkeys-popup always pops up #552

The demonstration page, docs/altkeys-popup.html, exhibits a problem: If you press a key on a physical keyboard, the popup appears, even if the keypress is very brief.

As far as I can tell by trying older versions, the error was introduced immediately after v1.25.13 (in commit 7e85b90fc81dbe436644a705d9420f58cc175a7d).
