Also wanting to ping @begla for the (most likely) unrelated shader issue in that log dump (appears benign for @skaldarnar but who knows, maybe it causes trouble for others):
23:24:32.502 [main] WARN o.t.rendering.opengl.GLSLShader - WARNING: 0:424: warning(#63) Unexpected tokens following #else preprocessor directive: newline expected
Line: Error prone line: '#else if defined (FEATURE_LIGHT_DIRECTIONAL)'
Keeping my fingers crossed that it is what causes #665, although I'm skeptical :-)
Ah yes, thanks for the reminder. This will be a little tricky to track down because something is leaving opengl in a bad state before that function call and the error only occurs sporadically.
But it is likely related to asset disposal and reload.
FYI - just tested on my system and it is the same thing. Fails first connect, then works fine on try 2 :-)
Amusingly I didn't get the logged shader warnings above but I do have shader artifacts (same for develop, documented over in #665)
Edit: Restarting both windows will re-trigger the issue - first attempt causes a crash, second works fine
This was a little tricky, because the crash was invoked by the length of time taken to do the certificate exchange on first connect - the progress bar was not cropping its value between min and max, so it was sending some dodgy commands to opengl. Should be fixed now.
Confirmed fixed, thankee :-)
I've got two separate installation directories and ran both via "-homedir" option.
As a result, the client game crashes with log below. The second attempt of connecting works fine then (after restarting the crashed game).
