What will happen in your session?

With the support of the Mozilla Open Leaders, we would have hopefully completed an Open Access for the Humanities field scan using the Open Access Tracking Project and building on the work of Martin Paul Eve and others. This session will show off that work and consider how we can take more concrete steps toward supporting Open Access in the Humanities.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

We'd like to set up shop around the gallery space (or science fair) to show off the work we've completed in our project so far and gather learnings from the MozFest community about how they interact with Open Access in the Humanities. Too often Open Access is solely the domain of the sciences, and we would like to help change that.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

Hey @little-wow and thanks for the session proposal! I'm one of the Openness wranglers team. We're still in the process of reviewing sessions, and we have a couple of questions!

  1. if your session is eventually accepted, would you be willing/able to deliver in a shorter slot (e.g. 60 or 90 minute) rather than all weekend? Background reason for asking: Lots of sessions have asked for all weekend slots, but our physical space is finite. If some sessions are able to run shorter we may be able to fit more in! 🦄
  2. Is this session designed to be interactive (or can it be made so?) We weren't sure from the description whether participants would be interacting with you or mostly just listening.

Hi @yochannah !

  1. Sure, that's totally fine
  2. It can definitely be made interactive – I see this as a way to build on Open Leaders work and do some brainstorming around making change in this particular topic! We'll be in the process of beginning to workshop our resource guide, so hopefully this session can help with that. :)

Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions.
