Hiya @fsagwe - would you be able to give us an overview of your session schedule please? So we can get a clearer idea of how you will deliver your objectives. Thanks
Hi Emrys,
Thank you so much for the update.Well,my quest is to use chess as a tool to help implement chesSDGs (global goals)...After a landmark treaty signed courtesy of the United Nations and majority of the countries in the world.
With an a vowed aim to end extreme poverty, respect for human rights and right for education ,actualizing Vision 2030!!
After an intro to global goals, the participants will be taken into depth on how to use chess as a tool to help implement the goals... Especially
Global 1 - No poverty Global 2- Zero hunger Global 3 - Good health and well being Global 4 - Quality education Global 5 - Gender equality Global 16 - Peace,Justice and strong institutions.
a) UN global goals posters, presentations, videos can be used to help and drive the point home.
b) In a group of 5 participants to discuss the remaining sustainable development goals.
c)To be in a group of twos (a pair)-since chess is played with two players..Regardless of the gender,sex,age,race,culture,social-economic considerations etc.And do a simulation of the game.
d) - Present and demonstrate on how chess as board game ,can help kids from screen time burnout.Since, most are with their devices i.e smartphones, tablets and laptops.
e)- Finally, see how empathy is played out while playing the game.Since you shake your opponents hand before and after the game ends. "Building Bridges"
f)The session will end with the presenter playing a simul game with all the winners in each game play and pair. A maximum of 20-30 participants.
-Please let me kindly know if there is any other contribution from the session objectives.
