What will happen in your session?

During the Internet Governance Youth Campfire the participants will have the opportunity to learn about the multistakeholder model of Internet Governance where they will be the stakeholders itself. After a 7-minute introduction from the organizers, the participants will be part of a 10-minute live poll where they will answer questions around the multistakeholder IG model to test their knowledge. The organizers will then divide the participants into 4 groups, each one of them representing the 4 stakeholders: civil society, academia, the tech community, and the private sector. A topic of discussion will be chosen randomly and each group will discuss that topic from their stakeholder perspective. After 25 minutes all stakeholders gather to stimulate an Internet Governance forum/meeting.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

While the Internet Governance global community is helping shape the future of the Internet, there is a lack of representation of young people in such platforms. The goal of this session is for youth to understand how a multistakeholder Internet Governance meeting works and how this model is building a healthier Internet. In the end, the participants will provide feedback about their experience and then the organizers will give a short presentation on how young people can get involved in Internet Governance and most importantly, why they should get involved. By understanding the importance of such platforms, the participants can walk out of this session with the inspiration to get involved in IG and help build a healthier Internet.

Unfortunately this facilitator wasn't able to secure a visa in time for the festival, so the session is being closed.
