What will happen in your session?

Acclaimed as the most trusted ID,Aadhaar, the biometric ID introduced in India by the UIDAI is more of a bane than boon. Contrary to the claims, the unique identification resulted in various cases of identity theft and other unethical activities. With talks about Aadhaar like identification number being introduced to the world, it calls for an insight to the threats posed by this unique ID. The session will involve:

  1. An introduction to how Aadhaar was introduced.
  2. What changes have been brought about by Aadhaar
  3. Threats of using Aadhaar as the unique ID, a case study, and statistics of fraud and forged cases
  4. Talk about alternative solutions to have a secure identity with multi-layered secure systems

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

The goal of the session is to create awareness about the threats posed by the usage of the unique ID and find out a solution or an alternative way of implementing a unique identification card. Besides that, some set of regulations need to be introduced by the organizations involved in the sharing of the data.
