What will happen in your session?

We will start our session talking about data, what is open data and difference between open and personal data. What is the importance of open data in our lives- How different communities, organization, government benefit from the availability of open data. How everyone can harness the power of open data to help communities get better and also contribute to open data. We will leverage open/free visualization tool like tableau public, data studio or helical insight for creating viz that participants are more concerned around categories like Rural Health, Internet Openness, Global Terrorism, Good Governance. At the end Viz created by participant would be printed & posted on Mozilla gallery if permitted or stored in GitHub.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

Participants can understand, analyze and visualize the open data.

The questions that are concerning to participants will be mapped to open data set, Visualization (Viz) would be built to get better understanding of data and derive conclusion from it. Visualization created by participant can be understood by layman and so, if that viz. is shared across the social network, more people would derive constructive conclusion from it and join the movement creating Transparent Digital Activist Army.

This digital activist army can share visualization/ conclusion with concerned authorities to take steps to get their communities better and overall have good impact on the society.
