What will happen in your session?

The attendees will be given a introduction to the Micro:bit and the use of 3D printing in hobbyist projects, this will be followed by a brief introduction to the MakeCode programming environment that will be used to code the Micro:bit. They will use the onboard sensors and buttons to make a tamper-proof lockbox that is fun to make and very easily to reproduce at home.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

To introduce the attendees to making projects with the Micro:bit and showing how 3D Printing can be an invaluable resource for making projects at home. This will also get the attendees comfortable coding with the MakeCode programming environment.

Micro:bits and their AAA battery packs A computer to program the Micro:bits with (e.g. A Raspberry Pi or Laptop)
