What will happen in your session?
This session would be focussed upon some of the biggest data privacy issues of the modern era where everything that we do or share is under constant threat from unencrypted data leaks and unsolicited data collection.
We would be talking about how what we share knowingly or unknowingly about our lives is susceptible to be collected, analysed and even sold to various entities for advertising, research or "other" purposes.
We would be explaining some of the most common types of data privacy issues, using some fun and interactive activities with the participants. We would be talking about how we can identify some of the most common signs of potential issues and how to safeguard our data from these threats.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
The goal of this session is to educate the participants about how their personal data can be collected and taken over by third party applications and services with or without their express consent and how that data might be used.
The expected outcome being that the participants would emerge out of the session with a better understanding and knowledge about how to protect their personal data from unwarranted access. Thus, empowering the participants with the know-how to verify the security of their personal information in their day to day lives.
