The DEETS
The Fund for Shared Insight (which pools money from 30 different funders including MacArthur) is distributing $2 million in grants "to support efforts to increase foundation openness in service of effectiveness." Note their motivation/focus is on effectiveness, more than "openness" per se. Based on the last open funding solicitation, we can imagine grants from $100K for one year, up to maybe $800K for 2 years, but I'd recommend we think in the $600K -ish range if we go for 2 years.
In talking with Chris, there are a couple of potential areas for which we might explore funding (that could potentially integrate into one ask)
Expanding/Generalizing the Working Open Workshops
Doing a Webby sort of Book/curriculum where MoFo is in the editor/curator/lead role on working open paired with curriculum
Doing something focused on our KPI's that are integrating feedback and exploring engagement and network strength
