Description

By the end of the session, participants will be able to learn ways to integrate dance with computer science in order to increase exposure and confidence in STEM fields. They can learn how to make a dance-tech performance piece that will wow audiences and themselves as well. Agenda

We can either lead a hands-on workshop where participants create a short dance routine that incorporates technology in a particular way and/or speak about our work with girls in New York City. For the former, we would teach participants a quick lesson on choreography, as well as a simple coding lesson, and guide them in combining the two in a performance piece. What is awesome is that the participants can put on a mini-performance at the end of the session!

Participants

We are accustomed to working with 3-30 participants at a time. We have the participants form small groups of 3-5 and in those groups that create a dance-tech routine.

Outcome

Participants will be able to re-create their experience with others - ideally people who don't commonly have access to or exposure to STEM programs.
