More details: The Things Network The Things Network crowdsourced a complete city-wide Internet of Things data network with the people of Amsterdam in 6 weeks using a new technology named LoraWANTM. A perfect network for the Internet of Things as it is low battery, long range, low bandwidth and free to use. Now they are launching a global campaign to repeat this in every city in the world. Learn about low power wide area networks like The Things Network and how we build the network together with more than 200 communities world wide. They will make a thing, connected to the network
Agenda
I'll start with a presentation to provide some context. Then, in a guided walkthrough, the participants will develop a thing; from connecting sensors and coding the thing (with Arduino) to getting data from the cloud
Participants
I can do the workshop with 3 to 100 participants. The content merely depends on the audience; whether they have a strong development background or not at all. I'm agile here; people can copy/paste code, use IFTTT and Node RED for drag-and-drop programming or do everything themselves in C and using our APIs
Outcome
For me: connect with the community and see what to focus on; we're a non-profit community project.
For them: experience what it takes to build an end-to-end internet of things device, how to build a community and what is the state of art
