Description

This session will discuss the architecture of the IoT (Connected Devices), how to start a new project, how to go through all phases of the project, what kind of hardware is needed and what kind of software is needed.

Also it will take in hand the usage of the IoT in real life, what are the pros and cons of using this kind of technology, and how to apply Mozilla's mission in general and privacy concept in specific.

A new idea will take place, which is how to start a new lab that applies the IoT knowledge according to your community, how to train students or people to apply the IoT concept in their communities and real life.

Agenda

While we are at the beginning of launching the connected devices project, this session will give a rich content for those who don't know about the project, and it will push them forward to start contributing to the connected devices in an advanced way, as this session will give them the basics and more about the connected devices and IoT, also we will put some time at the end of the session for Q&A if people have questions about anything in the session or how to start contributing

Participants

The varying numbers of participants always make more powerful for the session to be successful and many people can benefit as much as possible by providing the needed information for each group of participants, as for 3 participants we can show them some advanced details of the session and how can they work in a professional way to implement their own project, for the group of 15 wen can manage talking in a more general way so they can learn the things they need, take a high percentage of understanding and do some teamwork with each other to collect the information, for the group of 25 participants we can divide them into groups to make an activity in order to stick them to the session and not feeling bored so we can divide them into groups and make a challenge between them so they benefit from the information and the entertainment.

Outcome

I see that the attendees of this session will be excited to start contributing and building a new projects regarding the IoT and connected devices, there is no conditions will prevent us to work as a multi regional team (global team) to share the ideas and build an advanced creative projects as an output. Also people who will attend the session will be able to reflect the knowledge across their countries by making events or workshops to spread the knowledge that they learned in the session, so by this we can spread the knowledge to the most countries and communities and reach people who cannot attend global events or travel to collect information.

Thanks for the submission Zaid! We're not selecting this for the Dilemmas zone as we can only accept a small number of proposals, and are focusing on experiences which explore the problems and hard choices that come along with IoT: https://mozillafestival.org/spaces-and-sessions#a-tale-of-two-cities:-dilemmas-in-connected-spaces
