Description
The Digital Maker Collective is an evolving group of art school staff and students who work in collaboration. Our session would invite the public to join the collective in conversation & hands on activities, which explore an art school perspective of digital making & emergent practice in the arts. The public will be invited to participate in exploratory & collaborative 'works in progress' art & technology projects being developed by arts students & staff of the University of the Arts collective.
Agenda
The Digital Maker Collective hold regular meet-ups around technologies as well as public facing tech Jam style events so this session would be a mix of the two, part meet-up & part mini Jam. Members of the collective will bring along live projects they are working on and demo & discuss these with participants.
Participants
3 - would allow a more focused one-to one discussion & demo of particular aspects of work
15 - We could accommodate 3 groups of 5 who would rotate around each aspect of the session, trying & contributing to the process as they go
25 - This would be too many in one go for our proposal
Outcome
We hope to learn by doing by taking the meet-ups & Jam activities to new audiences outside the university. We would like to build contacts and attract potential collaborators for future work. We would like to build on what we learn from the event and the interactions we have. Will will take a lot from the experience to take forward to more external events. Participants who are interested are welcome to join the collective - http://process.arts.ac.uk/category/project-groups/digital-maker-collective
