APC - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_for_Progressive_Communications Interesting session, would be good to work this into a full session.
A session I'd like to attend, interested to see how it might be adapted to a youth audience
Hey Mallory, we really loved this session and spent a lot of time thinking about how to make it work. Sadly, with the concept we have this year, it'll be hard. We'd love to stay in touch and work together in the future. Hope you can still join us in London.
@chaoticfree Its a shame, I also really like this one, we are doing 3 sessions in the Youth Zone that touch on this area as our kids are really vunerable as they are often kept in the dark as to the "How" something like this could happen to them - Is the stipend the sticking point, as in not able to come if you dont have one or ... ?
Yes, we don't have any stipends left and we've steered away from sessions. We tried hard to find a good fit, but we didn't find a clear way to make it work.

We have secured a stipend for you if you can make it?

Yes I can make it. Thanks very much-- does this mean that my session will also be scheduled?

Description
APC and its partners have re-released its popular resource, a simple first-aid for human rights defenders who have found themselves on the receiving end of a hack, DDoS, or severe trolling. The latest edition is even more usable: mobile responsive and on a standalone platform. It's also now in Urdu, Hindi, French and Spanish, in addition to the original English. Participants will be coerced into a gameshow format as a way to share expertise and cluelessness alike in figuring out exactly what to do once you've been pwned.
Agenda
Humour (and humility) are what grim security culture really needs. That and practicality. Our resource acknowledges that pwning happens. So instead of leading with lecture, we like to help HRDs solve their insecurity first. And then we start in with some handy preventative tricks, which are presented in a hopefully not too condescending way. We'll prepare (ridiculous) scenarios. We'll ask participants "what now?" We'll keep score. There will be prizes.
Participants
Three participants is a conversation in which we can give those folks exactly what they came for by asking them what that is and then, well, doing that. A larger number is desirable and we're planning for that by making our session light, fun and full of opportunities to participate and offer advice, because we recognise that everyone who attends MozFest is an expert of some kind.
Outcome
We expect that participants will share our resource with their networks, likely during the session. We would like to find people willing to localise the resource into other languages. And we would like to continue to expand the kit by adding more scenarios and solutions and by improving the usability of the tool, eg creating a standalone app.
